We’re delighted to have you joining us for the 2026 Akaroa International Music Festival — nine unforgettable days of music-making, learning, and inspiration in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful settings.
From now on, you’ll receive regular newsletters to keep you up to date with everything happening at the Festival — schedules, artist news, concert programs, travel information, and more.
Discover Akaroa
Set in the heart of Banks Peninsula, Akaroa is a stunning harbour town rich in character, known for its French heritage, seaside charm, and welcoming community.
It’s the perfect place to make music, connect with others, soak up the relaxed summer atmosphere, go for a swim, see dolphins and penguins in the wild, enjoy great food in waterfront cafes or get the festival famous fish and chips.
Each day at the Festival is filled with activity — from rehearsals, masterclasses, and workshops to two concerts daily, featuring both students and guest artists.
You’ll also have opportunities to:
Perform in our lunchtime concert series (with free piano accompaniment)
Attend all festival concerts and classes free of charge
