Serenity Thurlow

Caroline AlmonteSerenity Thurlow (Ngai Tahu, Ngati Porou) of Maori and English descent, Serenity studied violin at the University of Canterbury with Jan Tawroscewicz followed by Masters study on viola with Peter Langgartner and post-graduate studies with Thomas Riebl at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

In New Zealand, she was a finalist of the 05/06 concerto competition as well being a member of the Christchurch Symphony and a casual player with the NZSO.

Since 2006 she has been living in Salzburg where she is an active chamber and orchestral musician playing regularly with orchestras from Austria and Germany including the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Camerata Salzburg and the Deutschekammerakademie Neuss.
