Helen Webby

Caroline AlmonteHelen Webby is Principal Harp with Christchurch Symphony, and tutor at University of Canterbury, where she runs a popular Adult Beginner course for Celtic harp.

She studied harp at University of Auckland, undertook postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and graduated from Hochschule für Musik, Hamburg with a Diploma (Masters) in Harp Performance.

Helen toured for Chamber Music NZ, and Arts on Tour NZ, and her CD Reverie (with Flautist Anthony Ferner) can be heard frequently on Concert FM. Helen is a passionate performer and teacher of Celtic music, and collaborated with Scottish guitar player Davy Stuart to record the CD The Peacock’s Dance.
